St. Augustine Grass
St. Augustine grass is the most sold sod grass in the world with over 1 billion square feet sold. Chosen for its better color and finer texture, St. Augustine demonstrates superior shade, cold, frost, heat and drought tolerance. This versatile turfgrass is used across the southern United States from the Carolinas to California under a wide range of climate and soil conditions making it the ideal choice for residential and commercial use. St. Augustine is a proven versatile grass that is a standard in many regions.
Zoysia grass is known for its drought tolerance, bug resistance, slow growing nature and fine blade texture. If you are looking for a beautiful sod grass that can truly withstand less water than traditional grasses, then Zoysia is the grass sod for you. Zoysia’s unique ability to lay dormant allows the sod to survive through drought or freezing weather without permanently damaging the sod. During these times the sod may lose its color but once water is applied and warmer temperatures are reached.
Bermuda grass is the standard most commonly used grass in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Commonly used on golf courses, athletic fields, and on the home lawn, Bermuda grass sod is known for its durability and wear tolerance under heavy play and will recover fairly quickly from abuse or neglect. It is best to grow this sod in full sun. Typically we would not recommend this turf grass in Texas for residential lawns, but for athletic or sports turf it would be great in Dallas.
